Sometimes you just never know where a doodle is going to take you. On a short road trip to visit a family member, I picked up my son’s note book and started doodling. I used the lined paper to lay out the owl design and it turned out pretty cool. I wrote a note to my son, “Owl always look out for you, love Mom.”
When my son saw the drawing and note he gave me a big hug. I liked it so much I thought I would attempt to paint it. I delayed starting for a long time. I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to recreate it on the canvas.
I was stalled on the designs and how to accomplish it. I pushed through and experimented with techniques and finally finished it.
It took me about 6 months to complete this painting from start to finish. I learned a lot with this piece and will always cherish it.
